to embrace the paradox ... the call of mystics and poets and those great beings hidden in plain sight ...
to turn to the silence for the resonant echoes of the intimate conversation ...
to know, to taste within our own vibrant consciousness, that we are wrapped around and within each soul in the stories which weave themselves into being as us ...
and so, in those last precious steps, the dust heavy in the air, the path steeply turning upwards towards the light, the vast silence behind him deafening, the song on his lips and on his lyre ignites within us, we who can embrace the incomprehensible distance, the full measure of love and loss, remembrance and bittersweet forgetfulness, and it is our souls which open, a delicate blooming, a sudden blue expanse which can now encompass both orpheus and his precious eurydice as they continue up that path together, rising as the first breach of the infant humpback breaks free of the surf only to return and rise again ... the thread unbroken in our hearts ...
